We know many photographers here are already well-versed in the commercial world, while others are getting approached by brands and ad agencies for the first time and might need a little help with pricing and negotiating. We have launched a partnership with Redeye for the Diversify Photo community to help with negotiating commercial jobs. Normally these services are only available to artists on a rep’s roster, but this is a special arrangement they are offering to support the Diversify Photo community.
How it works:
- If you get approached for a commercial job, reach out as soon as possible, to Redeye via email: diversify@redeyereps.com. Share basic info and questions. Redeye cannot help after you have agreed to a budget and commenced production.
- Redeye will respond in a timely manner.
- For commercial jobs that have projected photography fees over $1,500, it is worth it to have Redeye help with general shoot structure, pricing, negotiating, scheduling, prepping for client calls/treatments, and partnering you with quality crew and production.
- For commercial jobs that have photography fees below $1,500, Redeye advises that the smaller budget be allotted solely to the photographer and production. Redeye is happy to look over contracts and offer general advice but would not run or lead the job in this case. All correspondence would be handled by the photographer.
- There is no charge from Redeye unless the job is awarded. Payment is based on 25% of all fees (including tech days, prep days, travel days, and post days). This is industry standard. Redeye does not charge anything or any fee on production costs, including gear and retouching.
