The Chips Quinn Program for Diversity in Journalism, a program founded by Freedom Forum and led by Journalism Funding Partners (JFP), provides a one-year mentorship for early career journalists.

The Hopper Prize supports individual artists through two primary modes: unrestricted grant-making and an online digital archiving platform.

These $5,000 grants will support photography projects — either new or in-progress — from visual journalists working in a documentary capacity.

Projects may range from photography series and book projects to public art projects, mental health programs, long-form journalism, curriculum, performances, digital projects, scholarly publications, and more. We encourage proposals that address underrepresented family arrangements, care work, memory, identity formation, and other related topics.

The Global Peace Photo Award recognizes and promotes photographers from all over the world whose pictures capture human efforts towards a peaceful world and the quest for beauty and goodness in our lives. The award goes to those photographs that best express the idea that our future lies in peaceful coexistence.

The Yves Rocher Foundation Photo Prize is awarded to a professional photographer who wishes to produce a journalistic work on issues related to the environment, the relationship between humans and the Earth, and the major challenges of sustainable development.

The JGS Fellowship for Photography is a $7,000 cash grant open to New York State photography artists living and working outside of New York City.

Canon and Visa pour l’Image will be presenting the prestigious Canon Female Photojournalist Grant to an outstanding photographer in recognition of her contribution to photojournalism. The grant of €8,000 provides funding to support a compelling new project which will be featured as an exhibition at the festival.

The ambition is to support emerging filmmakers, give them the basic financial support to direct and produce a film and mentor them through the editorial process. It also encourages them to distribute their film to the greatest effect – to maximize their audience and create local impact through screenings, and provide schools with access to their films. These films will highlight filmmakers' voices worldwide, spreading talent and skills while showcasing authentic voices irrespective of gender, ethnicity, or disability.

 The Times is seeking ambitious journalists who want to build editing careers. This two-year residency will offer a chance for participants to develop and deepen news editing skills, as well as to work on Times journalism.

The International Photography Awards™ conducts an annual competition for professional, amateur, and student photographers globally, creating one of the most ambitious and comprehensive competitions in the photography world today. Our mission is to salute the achievements of the world’s finest photographers, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography.

The Eddie Adams Workshop is a merit-based, four-day photojournalism seminar in upstate New York held every Columbus Day weekend. One hundred students culled from numerous applicants are invited to participate. The Workshop is tuition-free and the students are chosen based on the merit of their pictures. 

The IJA-AAJA Pacific Islander Journalism Scholarship Fund is intended to grow the number of Pacific Islander journalists and support their success.

The Sincerely Storyteller Fellowship program is the foundation’s pilot program. For the first year, they will only consider photographers with projects in Morocco. As part of the program, we select a small number of visual storytellers and support the completion and circulation of their storytelling project by means of financial and mentoring support over a long-term period, focused very much also on the personal development of the visual storytellers. The fellowship is targeted at visual storytellers that are at the early stages of their career and so apart from supporting the project, the fellowship is aimed at developing you as a photographer. The program selects storytellers with a clear project in mind within the communities they work with. These projects can be at various stages in terms of their development.

The DIG Awards are an annual international competition that awards the best journalistic investigations and reportages in video and audio format.

The process of becoming a full member to Magnum Photos takes a minimum of four years. New Photographers are only recruited once a year, during Magnum’s Annual General Meeting in June, where one day is set aside for considering and voting on potential new members’ portfolios.

Booooooom and Artmobile offer the chance to have your work published as a standalone book for free! We will be selecting 6 projects to turn into books—each by a different artist, illustrator, or photographer—at zero cost to the individual.

The Hariban Award invites professionals and amateurs alike to submit black and white photographs for a chance to win.

SEJ’s awards honor the best environmental journalism in seven categories, bringing recognition to the most important stories on the planet. Journalism broadcast or published in print or online is eligible.

Each year Light Work invites 12-15 artists to participate in its residency program, including one artist co-sponsored by Autograph ABP, and two artists co-sponsored by the Darryl Chappel Foundation. Artists selected for the residency program are invited to live in Syracuse for one month. They receive a $5,000 stipend, an apartment to stay in, a private digital studio, a private darkroom, and 24-hour access to our facility.
